Xtracto is already uploaded to Google Play, but you cannot download it yet: it is in closed testing, so only accounts enrolled as testers can install it. That is not our choice. Before it lets a personal account publish an app, Google requires 12 people in the test for 14 days in a row, and it checks that they actually used it. Until that is done, being a tester is the only way to have it.
Accept the invitation, then install it from Play:
Two things that throw everyone off:
Until Google finishes reviewing it, Play shows it as
app.xtracto (unreviewed) and not as “Xtracto”. It is the same app: the real name
appears once the review is approved.
Install it with the same Google account you accepted the invitation with. If you have several on your phone this is the most common slip, and what you see is the store saying the app is not available.
And if you follow the link and Play says the test is not available, nothing is broken: your account is not on the list yet. Ask below.
Not much, but two things are not optional, and not out of whim: the 14-day counter is Google’s, and someone leaving halfway resets it.
Play enrols testers by email address: there is no other way to let someone into a closed test. It has to be the address of the Google account you use for Play on your phone.
This page does not send it for you. Type your address below and the button opens your own mail app with the message already written, so you send it yourself and see exactly what goes out. There is no server here, no captcha and nothing stored: the rest of this site asks for no data of yours, and this page is not going to be the exception.
